Me Too!I have the same issue
Product(s): Backup Exec - 2012, Backup Exec
Severity: Non-data threatening / major functionality
Status: Investigating/gathering information
Tech Note: More Information

Launching Backup Exec GUI will hang at ‘Loading data’ and would not open for a very long time. After waiting for long time, the GUI would open but it takes enormous time to navigate between different tabs.

For more details please refer to the following article:

I have the same issue here. After removing an autoloader from backup exec due to a fault with the hardware backup exec has become unusable. It took me two hours to get past the loading data bar and its unresponsive once it has.

Waiting for a fix from symantec. All the time this is happening I am unable to rely on our backup solution.

Hello,

This issue is not yet resolved and still under our engineering team's investigation. However, we do have a workaround for it which shall let the BE GUI launch without getting stuck in 'Loading Data'. I suggest to open a support ticket with BE and provide the case no so we can assist you with the workaround for this issue.

Devang Gandhi

Thank you Jan and Kent for your comments on this post and I would like to update you that our engineering team is investigating on this issue currently. Inputs provided by Kent will surely help with investigations. Meanwhile, we have a workaround for this situation and I would encourage to open a support case with Backup Exec Technical support team so the workaround can be implemented.

Regards,
DevG

We are experiencing the same issue in one of our BackupExec 3600 R2 appliance.

Is there any latest update or workaround for this?

Thank you in advance.

This has happened to me in Backup Exec 2012 when I removed a SAN-connected tape library from a CASO/MMS (four MMS servers) installation.  I can repro the problem by re-exposing said tape library to the BE2012/CASO/MMS farm.

Please fix.
