'Automatically optimize storage' option not working with Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2011.

Problem
The 'Automatically optimize storage' is designed to automatically remove the oldest recovery points in order to remain within the disk space threshold set on the backup destination folder. This option is currently not working which means the threshold is not being adhered to.
Solution
The 'Automatically optimize storage' option will only work when the 'Limit the number of recovery point sets saved for this backup' option is set to at least 2.
This is because the auto-optimize feature is designed to cleanup the entire recovery point set rather than individual recovery points within a set.

well, i have 5 recovery points configured, but it's at 16 now and doesnt cleanup.
So for me the solution is not relevant...
Then you must have a different issue then. Please either post in the SSR forum (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/backup-and...) or open a case with support.
Please mark thread as solved if you consider this to have answered your question(s)
