Problem

Backup job failed with V-79-10000-11233 if Backup Exec 2010 R3 and Symantec System Recovery 2011 installed on the same machine.

Error

V-79-10000-11233
Description VSS Snapshot error. A Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) snapshot is already running on the target computer.
 

Solution

WORKAROUND:

Please restart Symantec SymSnap VSS Provider and Volume Shadow Copy services from control panel.

Cause

This issue can be occurred when 2 backup software using Exchange writer runs backup jobs simultaneously.

Solution

WORKAROUND:

Please restart Symantec SymSnap VSS Provider and Volume Shadow Copy services from control panel.

 
SOLUTION :

Please change backup schedule to not to run BESR and BE or other backup software simultaneously.
