The Backup process fails to backup valid directories if a directory level wildcard exclusion using double asterisks (**) is defined either in the backup job properties or the Global Excludes in Backup Exec.

When running a backup job the backup fails to backup valid directories if a directory level wildcard exclusion using double asterisk (**) is defined in the Backup selection list or Global Excludes list in Backup Exec

Cause

The backup process is looking for a subset of the string supplied in the Path exclude and excluding folders incorrectly

 

WORKAROUND:

 1) Remove any wildcard excludes containing double asterisks (**).

 2) Manually Exclude Directories
