Disk Storage folders in a pool do not load balance by using each folder in order
Created: 07 Aug 2012 | 4 comments
If a set of Disk Storage devices are configured as a Storage Pool, then Backup Exec 2012 will always use the same drive (unless it is full, offline or busy) instead of sharing the storage usage by altenating round the drives in a order ('round robin' fashion)

Do any EXPERTS from Symantec every respond to these comments? The question about whether disk pooling no longer works in 2012 has been floating around for over a year and I have yet to hear a definitive response from Symantec.
Same problem for me .. it's a known issue but no delay for the resolution ! :(
Yes this is extrememly silly. I have 200 GB free on a device in the pool and it never uses it, it always uses the device that is almost full. Then when it starts using the nearly full disk storage and runs out of space, it just sits there until I cancel it. It will not continue the job on a different disk with free space in the pool. So there is no point in even having a pool, it seems better to assign jobs to individual disks instead of to use a pool. My time managing backups and storage has increased ever since upgrading to Backup Exec 2012.
Yes this is silly and should be fixed. It _should_ employ some form of AutoLoadbalancing option otherwise IMHO whats the point of having a "Pool"
