Duplicate entry is added to Windows Boot Manager following a restore using the Symantec Recovery Disk (SRD).
Created: 14 Jun 2011
Following a restore using the Symantec Recovery Disk (SRD), a duplicate entry is added to the Windows Boot Manager.
To date, this issue is only seen when the source server includes a Windows PE partition (i.e. if the LightsOut Restore option is installed).
Figure 1 shows a boot menu on a Windows 2003 server following a restore. Prior to the backup/restore, the boot menu only contained the first two entries.
NOTE: This issue is cosmetic and does not affect the ability for the server to boot the operating system.
