Problem

Independent backups using Symantec System Recovery 2011 intermittently fail when targetted to external USB drive.

Error

High Priority Error: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Monday.
Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. POSTCONDITION failed, CopyLegacyBootManager::GetDestinationRegion: .\CopyLegacyBootManager.cpp(190): pRegion. 0xEBAB0013 (Symantec System Recovery)

Solution

This issue is fixed in Service Pack 5 (9.0.5) for Backup Exec System Recovery (BESR) 2010. SP5 is available via LiveUpdate or here:

This issue is also fixed in Service Pack 3 (10.0.3) for Symantec System Recovery (SSR) 2011. SP3 is available via LiveUpdate or here:

no applied SP 5 for BESR 2010 already sum day ago,

but today i again experiencing this issue. so its still not solved
