NDMP restore job fails with Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.

Tech Note: More Information

When attempting a NDMP restore the job fails with an Authentication error after mounting the media.  The same network logon account "ndmp" or "root" used for the restore job is being used for the NDMP backup jobs which complete successfully.

0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was type

Is there any solutions to fix this problem?

I got the same problem,

Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise with Symantec Backup Exec 2010.

I can backup the NDMP files to taps. But if I try to restore the NDMP files using the same root account. I got below error message:

Job ended: Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 10:50:31 PM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000fe29 - Authentication failed on connection to the server. Make sure that the user account has the appropriate permissions and that the password was typed correctly.
Final error category: Security Errors
