Server blue screens when the Symantec System Recovery (SSR) service is started.

Problem
The Symantec System Recovery (SSR) service (VProSvc.exe) causes a blue screen to occur when it is started.
A blue screen has also been seen when a backup starts or when the SSR user interface (UI) is launched.
Environment
Windows 2003 SP2 x86 Enterprise Edition (virtual machine running on Hyper-V)
Solution
At the time of writing, there is no workaround. This article will be updated when a workaround or solution is available.

I have observerd the same issue on SBS2011 running Hyper-V. BSOD on backup and trying to open the SSR User interface.
Current version of SSR downloaded last week.
