I need a solution

I have three clients that show up with out of date definitions. I've pressed the "Fix" button several times with no change. How can I push definitions out to my wayward clients?

Hi,

The notification server is not showing in the list of site servers in site maintenance. I have restarted the task server services. The server is listening on the correct ports. Another site server is listed and is working fine.

Reporting for SMP 7.1

I need a solution

I am looking to transfer a single report from our old Altiris 6.5 NS server to our new SMP 7.1 server. Will I need to run through the whole migration wizard again, or is there an easier solution?

Along that same token, has anyone figured out how to modify a legacy report that was brought over to 7.1 from 6.5? I actually prefer the pre-silverlight reports that were on 6.5. I would rather use some old reports that I have, than rebuild with the new method.

Appreciate any help.

I've discovered a problem when I attempt to export selected results from a report on the SMC (7.0). All of the original resources are also pulled in.

Reports - Discovery and Inventory - Inventory - Cross-platform - Software/Applications - Software.....Count of Computers by Product, Version, and Manufacturer. Once to the report, I plug-in a keyword in the upper-right corner and receive the results just fine. When I choose the Save As option (to a spreadsheet), all of the results are pulled in again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ismanaged back from 0 to 1

Hi,

I have a pc on server 001, parent. I redirect it to 002, child. After the pc sends its basic inventory, the child now says ismanaged=1. However the parent says ismanaged=0. I thought that after any inventory was forwarded on that pc from child to the parent, that the parent would flip to ismanaged=1 but as far as I can tell it isn't. ResourceUpdateSummary shows datalastchanged for aex swd status being an hour ago. I wish to know what requirements there are for the parent turning the ismanaged back from 0 to 1, and what process does this, so I can hurry it up.

I need a solution

I have a questions about keeping Asset Management Solution and Client Management solution happy in the same environment.

Currently we have both solutions installed on the same NS and all in one database. However the more dynamic environment of CMS is making me rethink this architecture. We have machines coming and going, sometimes dup GUIDs throw us a curveball, we have a lot of different technicians at different locations managing desktops, this has a negative impact on the asset database. Sometimes merges don't happen right, and sometimes machines just have to be deleted.

My thinking is to put the two solutions on two separate NSs, with separate databases. That way the asset database remains intact no matter what we do on the CMS side. The users for each solution are different so I don't expect a push back from them.

Is there anyone running a similar setup? Am I crazy to suggest such a thing? Why shouldn't I consider this?

Force clients to retrieve packages directly from Notication Server

Hi everyone,

I'm running SMP 7.1 SP2 and I have some clients that are behind a firewall and are only able to access my NS over port 80. These clients cannot access any package servers over port 80 or via UNC. Is there a way to force those clients to get their packages from NS? I've tried creating a new site and only including the NS in there as a Site Server, and they are pointing their task services to my NS, but still try to get their pacakges from other Site Servers. In NS 6 this was pretty easy. Is there any way to do it in 7.1 SP2?
