SVS Layer Defaults

bqtran's picture

When editing layers to exclude folders, I find myself selecting the same folders over and over again.

It would be nice to have a Exclude Defaults area that would apply to all layers, and then you still have the option of fine grain exclusion like you currently have.

This Defaults idea may apply to other actions in SVS too.

excludegen

You can use excludegen to do this.

No, ExcludeGen will not

No, ExcludeGen will not make the exclude entries for directories for you, but ExcludeCopy will copy the directory exclude entries from a template to any or all layers.

I realize this, but can you

I realize this, but can you integrate the functionality into the program? Most people won't even download the ExcludeGen program (and other svs helper programs) because they do not know they exist, and even if they did, it is pretty inconvenient.

Chalk it up to being either lazy or wanting to be efficient, but either way, the common reason is there.

Streaming VSA's with AppStream

Has anyone tried doing this yet?

I've created an AppStream VSA package using the sample FireFox VSA but get an error extracting the layer from archive (error code 3). Is there some sort of checksum taking place to verify the file?
