Iconification in SVS Admin
2 Agree, 0 Disagree
I am using more than 30 layers and sometimes I find it difficult to search a particular layer.
I think it's a great idea if SVS admin can provide icons on SVS layers so that a user can identify the layer easily without reading layer names.
For example, if a user is using 'small icon' view, it will be easy to identify Yahoo Messenger by looking at its icon rather than searching for it.
gr8 idea
This is indeed a gr8 idea and will help in finding the software if the list of layers is large. Images have a better impact than written data.

I guess I don't understand
I guess I don't understand the point of this request to be honest. Isn't it easier to name your layers in such a way that you can tell what the application is? In looking at my SVS admin right now I have about 20 layers all named in a way that I can tell quickly at a glance what everything is.

Reading icons is better than reading text
We are living in a world where graphical images play a important role. Companies are developing softwares which are user friendly. The best way to make it is using icons and images which really make stuff easy. Reading a text is no longer a paradigm.
In SVS Admin, on changing Views > Large Icons, user should have the facility of customizing the icons.
SVS Admin also uses iconification to differentiate data layer from other layers.
Brilliant idea
Definitely a brilliant idea.
It would bring a fresher feel to the admin tool as opposed to the standard icon they have in there at the moment (which is redundant if they can't be edited and are all identical).
Searching layers
Yes, choosing names well is helpful, but I think it would be beneficial to have a way to categorize them better. Just as I have separated my programs menu into "applications", "utilities", etc., it would be nice if I could create folders within the SVS admin.
I agree on this
Indeed it would be nice to have the possibility to create (sub)folders in the SVS Admin.
That way, one could organise the layers as they want and customize the view.

A useful way could be to add a category in the layer property and in the Views have a choice to browse for Category.
Wow, why hasn't someone thought of this?
That is a great idea. Maybe have it look like the Start Menu icon. That would work out much better!!
