Not impressed at all with Norton's use of the ASK.com search engine.   I registered my website with Norton Safe Web and with Verisign. (doesn't really matter what website, my complaint is generic and likely applies to others)   Norton Safe Web: ownership verified   But when I type my domain into the Norton Safe Web search (uses Ask.com):   "Your search for (my domain) did not match with any Norton Secure results"   my domain is registered with ...

I think it would be very interesting if the "DeployAnywhere" of the D.S 7.1 could install the latest drivers onto the target PC which already had the in-box drivers installed after SYspreped Image was completed.

New "Client Deployment Wizard" is useless in finding unmanaged computers. It searches network but finds all machines not only those not managed by SEPM. I am a systems engineer and have worked with syamntec products for over 10 years and have been ivolved in many large deployments of SEP. To succesfully an efficiently deploy SEP  (with no need to use Altiris SEPIC) I need a tool which works like the good old "Find Unmanaged Computers" . The new wizard is useless for me.

It would be great if Symantec would partner with Catc and sell the external USB2.0 to 10/100 ethernet connector, with DOS drivers, to do ghost images, rather than having to continually search for NDIS drivers every time a new computer comes out with a NIC that is not recognized by the ghost console or if it is listed in the Ghost Boot Wizard, and still does not work.  It would save IT personnel lots of wasted time!

Hi As a part new intiative on "New benefit to Partner Accreditations and Authorizations - now part of your Connect Profile", it would be great if similar kind of benefit is introduced to Customers who are certified in Symantec products. Regards, Srikanth SCS(5.X,6.x,7.x)

Logs under netbackup\logs\user_ops are named naively e.g. NBWIN001, NBWIN002, ... Duing a restore of the drive on which NBU is installed, any such logs on tape will overwrite the log of the restore you are performing unless you explicitly remember to de-select the logs\user_ops directory before starting the restore. Instead, the logs should be named uniquely by date and time of job initiation.

Passing Symantec certification exam in Prometric is not easy. I am sure that a lot of community members who have that "Accredited" blue tag will argee. On the other hand for partner to get specialized there's a requirement: 2 certified STS. Person, who will try to pass the exam has a lot of job to do in their work environment. Such pros participate in lot of projects, prepare specs, setting up IT environments, etc. Thus it is not easy for them to prepare for examination, to ...

When a machine is wakened from hibernation or sleep mode; Windows 7 reports that the anti virus is not running and/or the system is unprotected. This also happens in some occasions during a reboot or cold start. The recommendation is to load the services before Windows notification. I have tested other products that do not exibit this behavior.
