Hey!
Now I have some other questions to you. I hope you can help me.
1. Is the RMS bv-control for Active Directory snap-in merged to the bv-control for Windows under CCS 9.0.1 or is there an extra snap-in?
(If yes, where are the Group Policy, Container, etc. Checks?)
2. Are there any snap-ins, etc. who can check if the Antivirus on the Server/Client is up to date?
Or is it only possible to check if the AV is installed (check if the .exe File exists)?
Any ideas?
Thanks

How about a friendly URL for the support landing page (E.g. - http://support.symantec.com/sep). NetBackup has one that is very simple to remember and uses the method (http://support.symantec.com/nbu). As a former Symantec customer-turned-employee, I found the ease of use of the NetBackup friendly URL very beneficial when I was out on the data center floor and needed to access something from the support site.
In fact, why not have one for each of the well-established Symantec products (SEP, SAV, CCS (tricky one), DLP, CSP, SEE, etc.) I may as well give a shout out for the availability products too (NBU, BE, EV, SF, etc.).

I am conducting data collection for a Windows patch assessment standard and I receive an error mesage like the following:
SERVERNAME - Failed to rename result file from (D:\Program Files\Symantec\BVNTQE\Data\9D8995CC-7EA1-4BCA-BB11-8C4957ED4A71-215.ajd.TCBMIS04.tmp)
into (D:\Program Files\Symantec\BVNTQE\Data\9D8995CC-7EA1-4BCA-BB11-8C4957ED4A71-225.ajd), error: 2 - The system cannot find the file specified.
I am collecting data against 800 servers using only three query engines. All CCS data collection and BindView components are up-to-date (version 9.0.1). All the Windows servers are agentless.
Have you seen this error before? How do you troubleshoot or resolve it?

In Remediation Report are given Account SIDs, not User Names or Groups (in Evidence->Failed Expression).
It would be very helpfull to have names, nod SIDs...

Currently in CCS 9.0 are only 5 ESM predefined policy. They are working fine with ESM collector (ESM 9.0.1 installation). Three of them are CIS policy with remediation (ESM - CIS Windows Server 2003 Legacy Security Settings for Domain Member Servers v2.0, ESM - CIS Security Benchmark for Sun Solaris 10 V4.0, ESM - CIS Legacy Security Settings Benchmark for Windows 2003 Domain Controller v2.0). The rest policy in CCS are only in use with RMS.
Is there any plan to publish any other ESM predefined CIS policy for the rest operating systems and databases? What we can expect in future?

I can't download the installation guide or user manual for CCS 9.x from the links at the PartnerNet site: the links for the 8.x files work fine, but those for 9.x don't.
Please advise!

Where is the link or location to download compliance check packages? I'm looking for specifically NIST 800-53 rev 2, and Security Essentials for Windows 2008 packages. Please help, I can't find them anywhere! I currently only have the rev 1 package, and looking where the actual link is to download these packages, thanks.

Is Crystal Xcelsius including in the purchase price of CCS 9.01 or is it an add-on? If add-on, roughly how much does it cost? Thank you.

Hello,
If we browse from Page # 1 than 2 and then3, its is not possible to come to page # 1 again, we need to come back to page #2 and then 1.
It would be great if we can come back to page # 1 from any page or go to any page we want. It will save lot of time

I see there are target types for Windows Server 2008, but it doesn't seem to like Server 2008 R2. When is R2 going to be use the 2008 standard?

Hi,
I was inherited ESM infrastructure and currently I am looking at possible compliance solution.
CCS 9.0 seems to be a good fit but I am little confuse with "Standard Manager" component of CCS 9.0.
Datasheet of CCS 9.0 talks about Agentless vulnerability and technical control checking. (Page 5)
http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/fact_...
If I just have CCS 9.0 and no ESM or RSM will I still be able to check the automated or technical controls with standard manager?
Also CCS 9.0 talks about Vulnerability Management or checking, does it mean I can remove Nessus?
I want to avoid buying more ESM agents if I can satisfy my requirement with just CCS 9.0.
Prompt response is appreciated.
Regards,
