I'm wondering if Control Compliance Suite will be a topic at Vision 2010 in Las Vegas. This would be one of the most important reasons I would attend. Is there a schedule for that?

I'm curious on how many options there will be for Workflow and Service Desk at the Las Vegas event.  Those are the two main reasons I would attend, but there doesn't seem to be any focus on either of those products.  Does anyone have any info on this?

At Vision there are number of “hot topics” that are of interest many of the Vision attendees. For example, topics such as: Alternate Delivery Models (Cloud Computing, Hosted Services, Software as a Service) Green IT  Microsoft Solutions (Win7, Server 2008, and Exchange) Virtualization (client, server, data center, storage, more) These topics cross a wide range of Symantec products and approaches. If a session spent at least 30% of its content discussing one of these topics, we would mark it as a “hot topic” session in the catalog listing. Do you agree or disagree that this is a good way to identify and address these topics?

We're excited to announce the Track Descriptions for VISION 2010. These tracks are designed to give all attendees an opportunity to Take Control of their responsibilities, wherever those responsibilities lie. Track: Endpoint Security and Messaging Today’s security threat landscape involves stealthy, targeted, and financially-motivated attacks aimed at exploiting numerous vulnerabilities in a variety of systems—endpoint devices, email servers, messaging vehicles, and online applications. Managing the security of the entire infrastructure has become an important and increasingly challenging task. As the demand to better protect enterprise data from external attacks, insider abuse, bad business processes, or simple mistakes, security professionals are gaining a growing arsenal of tools and techniques for endpoint protection. Sessions in this track cover best practices for implementing a simplified, holistic approach to endpoint security that protects systems from attack...

Prelude Initially, I wrote this about Backup Exec, because that's where I ran into this problem. I'm also a SAV & SEP veteran but don't recall seeing this heinous language in their KB articles. So maybe it's a Veritas thing. But, whatever... ...then it occurred to me that while BE may (or may not) be the only Symantec enterprise product to which the symptom applies, the cure is universal. Because it bridges a huge gap between the goals of Symantec Sales, Support, Connect, Knowledge Base, and Product Managers. So I've taken the unusual-and-hopefully-not-presumptuous step of tagging it to all available products. It is global. That kinda makes it Ideas spam, I know. Never done it before; probably never will again. Hope you can forgive me! Don Quixote Battles Symantec Two KB articles I've browsed recently contain variations on this boilerplate (emphasis mine): "There are currently no plans to address this issue by way of a patch or hotfix in the...

I'd like to see different locations offered for Symantec Vision in the future. Preferably I'd like to see Seattle offered.  I know my organization leaders are instantly skeptical of conferences held in Las Vegas and while I've been to a couple there I'd like to do something different.

Any info yet on whether Morton and ManageThis! will be rocking out one night of the conference?  They've always been a very entertaining aspect of the ManageFusion conferences.  Or does it all come down to how they do in the Corporate Battle of the Bands next week?
