The variable for the current user's profile (Documents and Settings...) is currently unavailable when creating file and folder exclusions in Centralized Exception policies. I know that this variable exists, as many programs (Internet Explorer, Firefox et all) use it; It stands to reason that exclusions may need to be made there.

Peter suggested that I post this here: I would like to see great granularity in the control allowed to Limited Administrators in SEP. I recently posted on this topic and it didnt gather much steam. I am not sure if my organization is representative of many others, but here we have a Systems group and a Desktop group. I manage all of the back end and work closely with the Desktop group to resolve any client issues. We want to allow limited control of the SEP console to the Desktop group. ...

While it's a given that a SEPM upgrade to any given Maintenance Patch (MP) level must follow a given upgrade path, I've never understood why the SEP Client must adhere to these paths as well. Since SEP12.1, part of the SEP Client upgrade process is that it pulls down all relevant files for the new client into a silo'd folder, and swaps these around on reboot.  As the complete files for the newer version are pulled down, I'd like to see more varied upgrade paths for ...

Up until version SEP 11 mr6mp2 the scanning schedule was rather limited. (not sure about 12.1 as i didn't check that yet) There was no option for example to schedule scanning on the first Monday of the month. This would be usefull for file servers that have huge amounts of data.   Perhaps SEP can borrow the scheduler from backup exec which is significantly more sophisticated.

In large organizations that are dispersed with lots of IT people that you need to have limited roles in the SEPM console, you will probably have a very large amount of limited admins. (we have 100's). Each limited admin is given the ability to run reports, export clients and can only see their systems and groups they are responsible for. For those that are master admins, you are the ones that are creating and managing these accounts. (deleting, modifing rights). With 100's of them, ...

Suggestion: In Symantec Endpoint Protection Management Console, allow the ability to show all log-types entries for a client in one list or report. Current Procedure: Currently you can get that information via Monitors | Logs and you choose which Log type you wish to see.  You can then enter a computer name. Issue: The issue with this method is it's cumbersome to have to go into each and every Log type and enter the computer name so you can get a list or report for that ...
