It would be nice to have a list of known and confirmed bugs that Symantec support knows with a plan to fix it and maybe voting system (like in ideas) that we may vote what should be fixed first. With a bug there should be also ETA for a fix (in what release it will be fixed). Sometimes there is a known problem and even whitepapers available but only for internal use and it would be handy to be able to seek and reference something when calling support (obviously I'm not expecting that some ...

(re-posting previous requested item) When we export a SEP client package from the SEPM console "Install Packages" view, the exported package contains old content, which means that once that package is installed, the new SEP client will need to retrieve new content from the SEPM or Liveupdate. We know there is a KB article that explains how to add the latest content to an exported package but we would like to see this happen automatically in the SEPM console ...

Hello, It would be really a Good idea if could Add a seperate Button "Purge All Quarantine Files" & "Clear Infected Status" & "Purge all Logs" on the SEPM Home Screen on in the Logs Screen. Since it becomes very tidious job for a Administrator to Delete the Quarantine Files or Risk Logs in case if there are around 50000+ Quarantine files OR there are huge Log int he SEPM.

(re-posting previously requested item) In the SEPM console today, it is not possible to rename "My Company" on the clients page. We would like to rename this to our actual company name, by right-clicking and entering the new name.

How about adding an option in SEPM to right click on non-SEP client and select "Ping" to determine if the client is online or not before attempting to push an upgrade

Hi ! It would be great, if myu users can launch the Weekly scheduled scan before the Time .. It's configure to start the scan all Friday at 12:45 PM So if they go to lunch at 12:00, it's verry usefull if they can start the scan Before. The option "Scan Now" exist, when we click on it, the scan launch, scan all file and completed But the Schedule scan ( For Example 1 hour after still to be scheduled... -> Twice the same Scan) Maybe Symantec Can make this option to use it only ...

Would like the ability to use wildcards with centralized exceptions.  I understand this feature is not yet available, but would like to see this in future enhancement.

hi, not sure if this has been added as Idea, if yes, sorry for duplicating it. SEPM console should have provision to differentiate the GUP from rest other clients. While troubl;eshooting ot will help. We have other way open LU policy and check the GUP machine, which seems to be bit time consuming in matter of few seconds, though differeentiating in terms of icon will definetly help. Cheers Pete

In SAV, people had the ability to set up web-based installs of the client software.  This was difficult, but worked if configured correctly. What about setting up a small web page (http://ip_of_sepm_machine/install) that directs to pre-compiled single executables?  This way end users could, in the event of a failed deployment, simply pull up a web page that contains links to the current package (set up ahead of time by the administrator), download the file, run the file and at ...

Symantec needs to make POLICIES to be MODULAR. Allow us to share single pieces of a policy and not replace the WHOLE policy when we import..... Right now, we have a firewall policy, but if I make a single change, say I add or change a rule, I can't share that with anyone else, NOR can I share that SINGLE change with another group HERE at work because it will overwrite the WHOLE policy, not simply ADD or MODIFY the one rule in that policy. Same for the other policies ...

The customer would like to set the SSH client to allow connection or to deny connection. The SNAC appliance does not have the interface to set it as CLI command. He requests to implement this function.

I was not able to get information on below idea, I am sorry if someone has already put up this idea. There are several types of intrusion events that happen in a network. Most of the times an administrator is willing to receive e-mail alerts for only major IPS events (major IPS events like RPC/SQL Slammer). We were looking if e-mail alerts for specific signatures could be enabled but SEPM doesn’t support configuring alerts only for specific signatures. The alerts for ...

As compliance for business, users must not access unauthorized applications and files. This will help to increase the productivity of every employee of a company. For Unauthorized Files such as MP3s, AVIs, etc. Symantec can only block specific filenames and file type extension. Smart users can bypass this blocking by renaming its file type extension. Recommendation: File types should be blocked using header file and not file type extensions. For Unauthorized Applications such as Games, ...
