In a multi-site SEPM environment, where logs are forwarded to a SEP Management Site and SSIM SEP Event Collectors are installed on the non SEP Management sites, you currently can not run a SSIM SEP Event Collector on the SEP Management site, otherwise duplicate events would be forwarded to SSIM. Prelude Initially, I wrote this about Backup Exec, because that's where I ran into this problem. I'm also a SAV & SEP veteran but don't recall seeing this heinous language in their KB articles. So maybe it's a Veritas thing. But, whatever... ...then it occurred to me that while BE may (or may not) be the only Symantec enterprise product to which the symptom applies, the cure is universal. The search function in DeepSight Alert Services does not work as one might expect. By searhing on prodoct it returns only vendors and not the products. The same goes for searching in alerts. Below is the text from the support case I opened. "At first I thought there could be a bug in the search function where you select technologies and creat a technology list. This is still the case. So when you search for a product on the term "rim" you will also get results on vendors ...

I request you all Symantec Employees to work on SEP's Detection rate . There are somany threats which easily passes through sep . IF you ask I can tell you a compititor which has much better detection rate than SEP almost 99.99 %.
