Hello: Has anyone ever tried this and succeeded or found a work-around? Configuration: - Solaris 10 x86 (HW 06/06 patched) implemented inside VMWare Server 1.0.1 - Veritas Storage Foundation 4 Basic (latest) inside the same Virtual machine. - Provision several VMWare based "*.vmdk" disks for Volume Manager to use.

Gaurav Sangamnerkar posted a new idea: Diskgroup configuration Backup copies 1 week 3 days ago
Veritas SF product till 4.1 was by default taking & keeping 5 backup copies of diskgroups under /etc/vx/cbr/bk directory. Starting 5.0, this was reduced to only one copy. In most of the cases, diskgroup configuration gets modified the same day & issue occurs on the same day. As a result we are not left with any last known good config copy.

Symantec is proud to announce the launch of Veritas Operations Services 2.0 (VOS 2.0). This release is a culmination of months of development based on customer feedback, and represents a significant step forward in the overall value that Veritas Storage Foundation, Veritas Storage Foundation for Windows and Veritas Cluster Server customers can expect to receive from VOS.
Gaurav Sangamnerkar posted a new idea: Proactive Checking of IO Fencing Keys 1 week 3 days ago
In all versions of  Storage Foundation suite, Symantec provides a feature of IOFencing to prevent Cluster Split Brain situation & prevent data corruption. As per design, IOFencing is a passive module i.e it doesn't react live unless there is any GAB port membership change. In case cluster keeps running fine, there is no check which is done by IOFencing module.

Community, We have a single node Netbackup 6.5.2 Solaris 10 server that has ICS (VRTSicsco) installed as part of the standard (and mandatory) packages Netbackup 6.X requires.  (This Netbackup server has connections with other NB Media servers that need ICS to be running to communicate amongst themselves)
This screencast, presented by PM Andrea Fuchs, offers a great walkthrough of functionality available in Veritas Operations Services (VOS) 2.0. The underpinning of the Veritas Operations Services 2.0 release, launched on November 4th 2009, is an integrated user experience which ties together VOS services that have been available to SFHA customer for over 2 years.
