There is no way to use a GUI to move MSMQ on Windows Server 2012. You can move MSMQ using PowerShell.

NOTE: In the example below I have created a new MSMQ folder on G:\. The path is G:\MSMQ. You do not need to create the MessageFiles, TransactionLogs or Storage folders as they will be created automatically.

To move MSMQ perform the following actions:

  1. Open powershell.
  2. Type the command: Set-MsmqQueueManager -MsgStore "G:\MSMQ\MessageFiles" -TransactionLogStore "G:\MSMQ\TransactionLogs" –MsgLogStore “G:\MSMQ\Storage”
  3. Restart the MSMQ services.
  4. If the services fail to start, add the Network Service account to the Local Administrators group on the EV server.
  5. Run  the command Set-MsmqQueueManager to get a summary of the MSMQ configuration.

Cheers,

Cameron Mottus

Enterprise Vault.cloud now supports Instant Message (IM) archiving using, Actiance’s Vantage product.  Enterprise Vault on premise has supported Actiance for some time but EV.cloud was just officially certified following testing over the summer.

Actiance is a leader in communication, collaboration, and social media governance for the enterprise. They offer capture and control of a wide variety of  Instant Messaging and Unified Communication networks including Microsoft Lync, IBM Sametime, Skype, IBM Connections, Jive, Bloomberg, Reuters and many more.

How does the integration work?

Actiance Vantage journals instant messages from enterprise IM networks (Lync. OCS, and Sametime) and public IM networks (Yahoo! Messenger and AOL Instant Messenger). Vantage takes the IM converesations and converts them to SMTP messages .   The Vantage Server software then journals the completed IM conversation and any...

Symantec recently announced integration with Actiance to provide accurate capture of social media, Instant Messaging, Unified Communications and Collaboration content.

Actiance is a leader in communication, collaboration, and social media governance for the enterprise. They offer capture and control of a wide variety of networks including Lync, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Skype, IBM Sametime, IBM Connections, Jive and many more.

Actiance recently completed tight integration with Enterprise Vault to allow this content to be sent to Enterprise Vault for long-term archiving.   Actiance content can be sent directly to Enterprise Vault via an API integration or can be sent to a mailbox and ingest via EV Journal Agent. In both cases, content is stored as an EML file and context is maintained through the capture of rich metadata to enable filtering on name/value pairs.

Symantec can also resell Actiance products...

I stumbled across this article the other day. LPL Fined $9 Million for Email 'Failures' here http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323648304578497054039151168.html and also http://www.businessweek.com/ap/2013-05-21/lpl-to-pay-9-million-to-settle-email-archive-case

Some excerpts from the WSJ article:

Recently LPL Financial Holdings Inc. agreed to pay at least $9 million to end allegations by regulators that the brokerage firm was plagued by "systemic email failures" but did too little to fix them.

and this one:

The breakdowns included failing to review more than 28 million emails sent or received by thousands of brokers. That meant...

Enterprise Vault 10.0.3 was released on January 18, 2013 and in addition to many new enhancements for Exchange, it also adds support for SharePoint 2013.

The Enterprise Vault team has focused a lot of attention on SharePoint in recent months as our customers are growing more aware of the need to manage SharePoint storage and to prepare for eDiscovery of this growing repository of content.  Our last release, EV 10.0.2, added the ability to capture social content including blogs, wikis, discussions boards and custom lists.  This was important for both eDiscovery and for storage optimization.

Capturing social content is a storage management perspective as it allows for the capture of important content prior to deleting a site.   Site proliferation is one of the biggest headaches for...

For the first time the other day I upgraded a production Discovery Accelerator installation from EV 9 to EV 10.0.1.  I noticed a small oddity, and wondered 'Why?'.  The oddity is that you can only upgrade to DA 10.0.1 if you are running DA 9.0.3, so not DA 9, DA 9.0.1, or DA 9.0.4.

I thought that was a little odd - it is covered in the upgrade instructions which is great, but it meant another half an hour or so of upgrading the EV binaries, then the DA binaries, a reboot, and then the same process again to get us up to DA 10.0.1.

Vault Solutions LLC and JPG Consulting, Inc. have released a new product which enables customers to target Network Files System (NFSv3) volumes for archiving and eDiscovery.  This new product was recently featured at Symantec Vision 2012 in Las Vegas, NV and was highlighted in serveral Symantec sessions. The list of platforms we can target keeps increasing but we have tested with different versions of NetApp filers, Solaris, OpenSuse, HP-UX and RedHat Linux.

A unique feature of the solution is the ability to replace the original content with shortcuts (symbolic links) for storage reduction to the content archived in Enterprise Vault.  Clients can retrieve the content via our NFS server which seamlessly retrieves a readonly copy of the content from Enterprise Vault.  If NetBackup is in use with Enterprise Vault, the solution can even retrieve the content from tape or other storage media without any...
