Today is a big day. I’m personally very excited to let you know that the public beta programs for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 Small Business Edition are now open. Our team has been working hard to make these solutions the best they can be, and we need YOUR help.

Select partners and customers have participated in pre-beta programs since January 2011 and they’ve given us valuable feedback on the implementation, performance and management of the product.  Now it’s your turn to give us your feedback.

We’re all really happy with the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Protection, and I think you’ll be impressed as well. But don’t take my word for it; take a look at some of the comments from a few of our early testers:

Today, Symantec EMEA launches Master Specialization, the next phase of our enhanced Symantec Partner Program

According to the sixth annual Ponemon report, 2010 Annual Study: U.S. Cost of a Data Breach sponsored by Symantec, the need for complete protection has never been more urgent – 31 percent of all breach cases involved a malicious or criminal act, and averaged $318 per record, up 43 percent from 2009.  In addition, the number of breaches caused by negligence edged up one point to 41 percent and averaged $196 per record, up 27 percent from 2009.  This steady trend reflects the ongoing challenge of ensuring employee and partner compliance with security policies.

As partners, you have the opportunity to help your customers assess their risk and provide both services and products to help them prevent costly data breaches.  To get started, check out this great tool, the Data Breach Risk Calculator, to show your customers their level of risk and engage in a conversation regarding how...

Today we unveiled new versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition.  Powered by Insight, Symantec Endpoint Protection is fast, powerful security for endpoints.  It offers advanced defenses against all types of attacks for both physical and virtual systems, seamlessly integrating the essential security tools your customers need into a single, high performance agent with a single management console.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 and Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition will detect sophisticated new threats earlier and more accurately than signature or behavioral based solutions alone.  We’ve done some early testing of the product with a small group of partners and we’ve gotten some great positive feedback.  They are loving the speed and ease-of-use that Insight, our award-winning...

Partners – our newest Specialization is now available!  The launch of the Encryption Solutions Specialization coincides with the integration of PGP and GuardianEdge channel partners into the Symantec Partner Program.  This means more opportunities for you to differentiate from your competition and maximize your sales opportunities with Symantec.

The merging of the two programs broadens the Symantec partner ecosystem and gives all of our partners an expanded product portfolio.  Combined with the new Encryption Solutions Specialization, our partners will have more opportunities to be ready to solve customers’ complex security challenges and maximize revenue at the same time.

I have some exciting news about the Symantec Rewards Program. We’ve extended the Sympoints Backup, Security, and Recovery program through April 1, 2011. This means that partners have additional time to earn more rewards and build up your Sympoints account. Plus, in December we made a couple of significant enhancements to the program by offering:

Lower thresholds on minimum licenses per claim – and - the addition of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0

For SMB resellers, you can earn a 15% reward point bonus on all qualifying sales by completing 4 of the required courses to become an SMB specialist.

The claims deadline for the Backup, Security, and Recovery program is May 16, 2011. Checkout the online catalog at www.sympoints.com to see the vast choices you have to redeem your points for the latest merchandise, exciting travel, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Earning rewards has never been easier!...

Today, Symantec announced the evolution of our Symantec Partner Program.  As we shared with you in April, our Partner Program will now focus on a Specializations model that rewards partners for expertise in key solution areas and growth markets they serve.

We are really excited about the new model, and how it will help you - our partners – to differentiate your business, maximize sales opportunities, and accelerate profitability.
