Happy SysAdminDay!

I'm kicking myself for nearly letting this one sneak by without my notice! But how can I let the day pass without giving a shout out to all the Connect members to toil away and don't get nearly enough recognition?!

This day isn't as widely known as International Talk Like a Pirate Day but it's still a day that's dear to my heart because it's one day out of the year that recognizes YOU! Without you, I wouldn't have a job, so keep up the good work!

Go ahead, take tomorrow off!

So, you're all registered for Vision and you're wondering who else from Connect will be there.

We're gonna make it easy on you! Add your name to the comments section in this blog posted in the Vision Community, and Leslie will print you out a nifty sticker with your username and avatar. Then, stop by the Internet Lounge at Vision and pick your sticker up. :)  That way, one of us from Connect will have the opportunity to meet you. And soon, all your fellow Connect users will realize that YOU are the one with all those fabulous comments.

DEADLINE: You have to add your name by April 25 to this thread. That way I'll have time to create the stickers and print them in time for the event.

Remember, comment on the blog post in the Vision...

I noticed a discussion on here about having problems creating a WinPE boot disc for the Sony Vaio VPCZ1.

I solved this problem by downloading the HP drivers for the Intel 82577LC from here http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=4096175&prodNameId=4097219&swEnvOID=4055&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-89788-1

On the GHOST boot wizard I added the Intel 82577LC driver gave it the friendly name of Intel 82577LC Vista 32 and pointed it to the Vista 32 driver that I extracted from the HP download  folder %\%\SP50479\flat\VISTAx32

To make sure nothing else would cause a problem, I did not...

You've seen the post in this community about the #Altiris chat - manned by volunteers who are Altiris Admins like you and willing to answer your questions. But have you ever wondered what goes on, without actually wanting to wander into that great unknown? Or worse yet, have you wandered in and no one is there?! We don't always have answers to the questions that are asked, but we do our best.

One of the #Altiris regulars GaurhothW put this report together showing what times are most active (times listed are EST) and who is most active. You can also see some of the random comments - thus we will be watching what we say so we aren't randomly quoted saying something embarrassing!

The information on this report updates periodically #altiris @...

The Symantec Vision 2011 clock is counting down fast, and May will be here before you know it. Here are a few new tips and suggestions for making the very most of the conference in Las Vegas:

  • Be sure to plan your week at Vision. The online Session Scheduler is ready and available for all registered Vision attendees, but anyone can check out the Session Catalog to review what is being offered. Popular sessions fill up quickly, so sign up for the technical tracks, sessions, and hands-on labs while openings are still available. You're free to make changes to your schedule anytime, so reserve your spot in the sessions you want most, knowing you can update your agenda, as needed.
  • Get the...

Description: the Getmac  command returns the media access control (MAC) address and list of network protocols associated with each address for all network cards in each computer, either locally or across a network.
