The registry is the place in your computer computer where the configuration information about your computer and your installed programs are saved and stored so that your operating system can access and use them.

Upkeep of the registry is an essential step in maintaining your computers health. Registry errors or malfunctions can include computer crashing, slow performance, and the always annoying Microsoft Windows error messages.

The software I recommend for this is Ccleaner. (C-cleaner). This wonderful program wipes useless temporary internet files, cookies, and recent documents clean from your computer. I usually free up anywhere from 50-150 mb by using ccleaner, depending on how much I had been using my computer. Not only does ccleaner do all that, it is a top notch registry error fixer.

Driver Packs

In the event you want to have a lazy day and use another community's hard work, this site has some nice and potent driver packs.

Obviously streaming the entire group of packs into a XP DVD will give you a CD that should install on pretty much any PC or laptop and have all drivers pre-installed, but note that having a massive driver collection will be slower than a HII install that only installs dedicated.

Specifically the Chipset, LAN & WLAN (Laptops) generally are the handiest to keep.

Still I use it. I'm sure many of you do.

Do you have a bunch of systems that are Intel AMT capable, yet currently set to ASF Manageability mode? If you're looking for a way to remotely switch these over - take a look at the updated Intel vPro Activator Utility in the Intel SCS v6 preview - http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/download-...

If you extract out the Activator directory - the exe and dll files are what you want. Test it out on a system. The command is as follows:

activator /transition

You will notice the system's network connection disconnect\reconnect during the transition. Once complete - you're system is not set to AMT...
