Hi all,

Just posting a PDF that's an updated packaging guide for Office 2010.  This guide covers dealing with the Licensing Services in office and how to remove them from a layer and capturing one as well.

Those of you looking at deploying Outlook 2010 on your systems will need to be aware that outlook captured on XP will not run on Win7 or visa-versa.

The reason is that Outlook 2010 has a fundamentally different install for XP and Win7, so if you need to support both OSs you'll have to capture Outlook 2010 twice--once for XP and once for Win7.  Note: You can still capture 32-bit outlook on either Win7 versions and it will run when you move it to a different architecture.

Another note is PST and OST corruption with Outlook 2007, though it's recommended to do the following for Office 2010.  You'll need to add the following Exclude entries to the layer [APPDATA] w/subdir and [LOCALAPPDATA] w/subdir.  Keen eyed users will realized that this will prevent reset from really working as intended, because all the user data will be excluded from the layer, so those of you that want to avoid that reset issue can exclude the following file types from your...

As some of you are aware we just released SP6 MP1 and there's a few things that need to be pointed out since I know many of you are eager to get using SP6 MP1.

(Until we have them up on the public download site please contact your sales rep to get the release--once the build is public I'll do one of my posts listing what's in the release and where to get it).

First off any XPFs or VSAs made with either of the betas (January's or July's) are not supported with SP6 so you will need to repackage any application that you made with them.  Any XPF or VSA exported from SP4 or earlier will work with the build so it's only the beta builds you have to worry about.  For the most of you this will only be x64 related stuff.

The same goes for any Office 2010 packages people were experimenting with pre-SP6 MP1.  This includes the recalled SP6 release.  You will need to repackage any office 2010 stuff.  As this is...
