Have you ever thought about bringing your SWV packaged layers into a cloud solution?

Without the need to stream them over slow internet connections?

Now that DinamiQs released DinamiQs SMART 3.1.3038 we are also about to release our Hybrid Cloud portal that enables company's to take the most advantage of Symantec Workspace Virtualization.

The DinamiQs hybrid Cloud portal enables you to publish Symantec SWV packages into the cloud for a full seamless experience. Just like you can do with Citrix Xenapp, but without the need to install and manage Terminal servers or Xenapp servers.

DinamiQs now offers you the ability to use SWV applications in a published Windows 7 desktop to facilitate all applications.

The new version is 6.1 SP6 MP1, and applies to both Workspace Streaming and Workspace Virtualization.  As usual there is a list of fixes, but there are also some new features that are pretty noteworthy.

On the top of the list is 64-bit support.  Yay!  A lot of people have been waiting for this.  So now, 64-bit clients are supported on all Windows 7 varieties, plus Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 and Server 2008 SP2.  64-bit is also supported on the server operating systems as well.

Next up are a couple of items I’ve been looking forward to for years, streaming by file association and dependent streaming.  So now an application may be streamed at times OTHER than when its icon is clicked.  The two new situations are when you click on a document with the appropriate extension, the corresponding application will stream.  You can set this in the console, just like you set if you want the application to be set for...

Now you can follow your favorite Connect author! Does someone write articles, or create downloads that you find most helpful? You don't want to miss a word and now you can subscribe to that author and receive a notification when new content is published by that person - regardless of the subject or community.

Here's how:

Find a current post by your favorite author and click on "Subscriptions" at the end of the post.
Check the box next to the author's name and click "update"
