WOW! DVS SMART has almost reached 10.000 downloads. It's amazing and it tells us that there is a demand to have something between SVSadmin and SWS.

A lot of the users who downloaded the software have asked us for improvements and enhancements and we listened to this.

In a few weeks, yes I will let you know, a new version of SMART will be released that makes managing SWV layers even much easier.

A full list of all functionality and improvements will be posted soon.

So for everybody that is not aware of SMART:

Smart stands for Simplified Management Application repository Tool and you install it on every desktop, laptop or VDI image that you use to run SWV virtualised applications.

Traditionally Symantec has two tools available for you

  • SWV admin
  • SWS streaming

Application compatibility testing plays major role in all the migration projects. When it comes to migration from Windows XP to Windows Vista/7, we need to check if the application is compatible on the targetted operating system.

ChangeBASE AOK  is one of the automatic compatibility testing tools. AOK will check the application to see if there are any issues in migrating the application onto Targetted operating system. ChangeBASE relased a LITE version of the application available for testing purposes. Following is the link to try it:

The DriveLetterView tool allows to view and change drive letter assignments in your system even if drives are not currently plugged. The nice GUI shows all local drives, remote network shares, DVD drives and USB drives.

Helpful in case of USB device in conflict with other existing drives or if you want remove USB devices that you don't use anymore. To change the drive letter of USB device or remote network drive, simply select the desired drive letter and use the 'Change Drive Letter' option (F9).


OS Supported: Windows 2000 and up to Windows 7/2008. Both 32-bit and x64 systems.
