Winamp 5, 5.2

Capture Mode: Single Program Capture

Currently there are no known issues with winamp. If you want to create a data layer with all of your media files this would be a good application to try DLC(Data Layer Creation) on, since winamp wants to associate itself with most media types.

I did not have as much luck as the previous person. I ran into problems with USB, network and CD drives not being available. I will look into edits that may help, but my gut feeling tells me that Workstation will not work because of the number of drivers that are required.

I can confirm the above method also doesn't work with VMware Workstat 5.2 build 29772

Application Name: VMware Server

Application Vendor: VMware

Application Version: e.x.p. 22088

What OS was the VSA capture performed on: Windows Server 2003 R2 x86

Import from VSA tested to work on different machine: N (not yet. will soon.)
List of OS versions VSA was tested on: N/A

Capture hints: None.
Suggested/Optional package edits: None.

Things to watch for:
It's acted very quirky on me so far. For instance, sometimes when I deactivate it, it won't reactivate properly. If I reset the state it pretty much always comes up. Sometimes if I deactivate/reactivate it works. Weird. Networking does not work properly :( It complains that the vmware network bridge isn't running, and indeed, if you check your network connections, there are no VMware adapters there.

Just ran Vmware ACE 1.0.1 through svs, and it works 95% as it should. The only thing that doesn't work is network support. The client says that the network cable is disconnected. My Vmware ACE install is around 7 GB and compressed it's 4 GB, so one of the larger applications. ;)

Visual Route installs Java runtime components. Java gets captured to the layer without an issue. You might want to look at having this installed into the base before you install visual route.

UPS WorldShip was installed and configured without any problems using the SVS Release Candidate build.

Application Name: UPS WorldShip

Application Vendor: UPS

Application Version: 8.0

What OS was the VSA capture performed on: Windows XP

Import from VSA tested to work on different machine (Y/N): Yes, works well

List of OS versions VSA was tested on: Windows XP, Windows 2000

Capture hints: None

Suggested/Optional package edits: After the layer is captured you could do the connectivity testing and then exit when it asks for specific user credentials. Then move the files that were placed in the writable sublayer to the read-only sublayer so it doesn't have to check for that connectivity menu, even if it gets reset. This would be optimal if you need to deploy the applicaiton to different people in the company, that way they can add their personalized information and continue from there.

Things to watch for: When I imported...

Application Name : ULead Video Studio

Application Vendor : COREL

Application Version: v11 Plus

What OS was the VSA capture performed on : Windows XP Pro SP2

Capture Method : Single Process Capture

Import from VSA tested to work on different machine (Y/N) : Y

Target Machine OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

TIP: The captured VSA worked well, provided the OS is installed on "C Drive" and the target machine also has the OS installed on "C Drive", else, it is not successful. Initially the program takes time to load (15 to 20 Seconds on a Dual Core, 2 GB Ram machine)

All the best !
