Hi everyone,

We're conducting a really short survey on Data Protection and Archiving, and how much of your IT time and budget is spent on it. We'd really appreciate your help. You can take the survey right here:

We released V8 SP4 a few weeks ago and a major new feature of SP4 is Move Mailbox Archive - here's a bit more detail about what this provides.

Move Archive allows the Enterprise Vault administrator to move the contents of Domino and Exchange mailbox and journal archives to new or existing archives in other vault stores. For mailbox archives, the destination archive can be the same Enterprise Vault site, a separate site, or even a site that is located in another Enterprise Vault directory. Journal archives canonly be moved within the same site. The version of Enterprise Vault on the source and destination servers must be at Enterprise Vault 8.0SP4 or later. If an archive contains items that are under legal hold, such as from Discovery Accelerator, the archive cannot be moved. Once all legal holds have been removed, the archive can then be moved as desired.

We have also published a feature review document...

When I visit customers I often get asked about how they can help themselves and find out more about EV. I'm always happy to send them the various useful links which I know they'll find useful or even essential for keeping up to date with EV developments. So rather than have to copy paste this list each time I need to share it I thought I'd post it here for everyone to take advantage of and then I can also have a single URL added to my email signature which will reference this list. Having been involved in EV for so long I take it for granted that customers and partners can find this stuff easily but now they really can...I think the following is a great compendium of must know locations and hope you all find this to be of use.

Attention:  Please note that Enterprise Vault 9.0 Beta and First Availability registration is now closed.

Enterprise Vault v9 is on the horizon and the beta program is going to be starting shortly. Having customers beta test our releases complements our own in house QA testing and helps to ensure that a quality release is delivered. We have already asked for customers interested in testing the Exchange 2010 functionality to signup for the beta. I'm looking for any of our FSA customers that may be interested in signing up for the beta.

FSA v9 will be bringing much requested enhancements and performance improvements to FSAUtility (for...

One of the great things about working on a product development team at Symantec is the depth of resources at our disposal to make our products as good as they can be. One of the resources that the Enterprise Vault team now makes extensive use of is the User Centered Design (UCD) team.
UCD is a process of product design & development that starts with end-users and their needs; rather than with technology.  It involves keeping users at the center and “checking in” with them in all the phases of development. The goal is to make our products easier to use, more efficient, more consistent and more satisfying.
As part of this process the UCD team works directly with our customers to understand your use cases and workflows and to see how well certain designs and proposals resonate within the install base. Feedback is gathered through interviews potentially using mock-ups and proto-type...
