Ok this is not really related to Symantec but could become an issue with the new console should an exception not be allowed automatically.  I did some research and I found that with Office 2007 there has to be an exception made for the mouse in the scroll properties.  Go to control panel -> Mouse properties -> scroll tab -> click exception button.  Browse to the executable file and select the file in the program you are having issues with, for example:  excel.exe.  C:Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office 12/excel.exe.  It took me a little bit to search for the fix, so I wanted to post it in case any other users may be having issues.

This week, Symantec was honored by the US Small Business Administration as one of eight recipients of the inaugural Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program Hall of Fame Award. The ceremony took place in Washington, D.C. at the White House. The event was moderated by SBA administrator Karen Mills and also included remarks made by Austan Goolsby, chair of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors.

The SBIR Hall of Fame award recognizes companies with a long period of extraordinary success of research, innovation, and commercialization within the 30-year SBIR program. Symantec was the first recipient of a grant via the program in 1982, established at the time by Roland Tibbett. The grant was critical for Gary Hendrix to found Symantec.

What is FileConnect?

FileConnect is Symantec’s electronic software distribution website which allows Symantec customers to download their enterprise products or order a media kit.

Some customers are trying to download a software from Fileconnect using the ‘HTTP download’ method have received the below error message:

Video update: How to Create a Poll

I wanted to give you a heads up about a couple of new features our developers have been working on.

Quick Polls

The developers have added a new Polling feature that allows you to add a poll to any of your posts. Check the right column of this post and you'll see the poll I've added.

  1. Adding a poll to your post is really quite easy but does require two steps:
  2. Using the "Poll" option in the "Create" menu, you'll have to create a poll with a question and a few possible answers.
  3. Then using the create or edit form of your (article, blog, discussion ...) submission, find the "Poll attachment" field and associate your poll with your post by typing the poll name into the Poll attachment field.

Notifications Clean up

Another thing they've attacked is the formatting of (text and...

When you are publishing articles or blog entry's on connect you sometimes want to create cool screenshots. You can use paint to do this, but when you want to edit the screenshots or make them smaller in size paint isn't the best option.

Maybe you like the Free Photo scape program.

I used it for several weeks now and its a big enhancement.

Give it a try.
