Hi Everyone,

Last week I attended a conference in which 150 CIOs of small and mid-size business gathered together to discuss the latest technology and business trends.  It was interesting to hear their feedback.  They were pretty happy to interact with someone from Symantec and I got an earful.  Here are a few nuggets of information that I was able to get from them during our discussions.

  • Mobile is a HUGE concern.  More people are getting mobile devices and would like to use them on the corporate network.  Anti-virus and management would be great on these devices to help protect the device and other assets on the network, but they were more concerned about what is on those devices and how to secure the information.  Losing a Blackberry or iPhone is a nominal cost, but what if it’s the CEOs?  Or what if it’s full of credit card information or personal medical information.  That...

Hi Everyone,

First of all, I’d like to encourage all of you to contribute to the IT Consultant Group.  Just submit an article to the “Partner” community and make sure you select “IT Consultant Group” under “Also show this post on the following group pages” when you submit your article/blog/idea/video to the community.

Now that we’ve got the ball rolling on our SMB IT Consultant Group, what kind of content would you like to see?  We’ve had a great start to our group and we are starting to get some good content to help you in your job function, but I’m limited in my view into the IT Consultant world. I'm armed with some of my own ideas around some of the articles, blogs, and videos that I believe you would benefit from, but I’d like to discover your interests.

Please add a comment to this blog article on the content you’d like to see...

By knowing what common IT pitfalls other small businesses have made, you can be better prepared to avoid them yourself. The following tips will help small businesses avoid common IT security...
