I’m happy to announce that Rick Kramer has been promoted to Vice President, North America Channel Sales. With 14 years at Symantec, Rick will bring his strong leadership skills, in-depth internal knowledge and unique perspective into this role.

Rick has gathered a wealth of experience in prior Symantec sales roles, including frontline sales and management, specialist sales leadership and channel sales leadership. Last April, he was promoted to Vice President of National Solution Providers and Global Systems Integrators. Rick was also recently recognized by CRN magazine as a rising star in the channel.

I’m thrilled to share that three executives here at Symantec – May Mitchell, Tricia Atchison and Sue Fossnes – have been recognized by CRN for its 2014 “Women of the Channel” list. CRN’s annual list highlights the accomplishments of female executives within vendor, distribution and solution provider organizations, and the impact they are having on the advancement of the IT channel industry as a whole. Additionally, May and Tricia were selected to be a part of CRN’s “Power 100,” the top 100 most powerful women in the channel.

Disruption is a big word in technology, and over the past year, the channel has continued to evolve around newer technologies like cloud, mobility and the Internet of Things. Just as the channel has changed, so has Symantec. In 2014, we launched our redesigned Partner Program and solidified our commitment to working collaboratively with our partners to meet changing channel demands and customer needs.

But our work isn’t done. We’ve taken stock of all that we’ve achieved with our partners this past year and are looking toward the future. Here are the biggest game changers we expect to see in 2015:

Symantec™ System Recovery 2013 R2 rapidly restores complete physical and virtual systems in minutes, not hours or days, even to dissimilar hardware, remote locations, or virtual environments for your customers. 

Extensive testing was done on this recent release that included 120 + successful Beta deployments globally.  This update includes supportability improvements, bug fixes, new features and new platform support such as:  

  • Windows 2012 R2 Update
  • Windows 8.1 Update1
  • SharePoint 2013 (without GRO)
  • VMWare ESXi 5.5
