SFRAC: any future plans for customers to opt out Oracle CRS when using SFRAC ?

Earlier in oracle 8i oracle parallel server and oracle 9i RAC, veritas DBAE and  SFRAC(CFS) supported Oracle OPS/RAC
Oracle clusterware (CRS) was not available then. Hence customers had to pay only one clustering stack licensing fee.

CFS everyone agrees is very pricey specially when you have multiple CPUs and is very robust.

Now with 10g and 11g Oracle CRS clusterware is a must even if customer wants to use Veritas SFRAC.
This becomes double pricey, because customer will have to  pay high licensing cost for Oracle EE RAC as well as Veritas SFRAC
As a result many customers are moving to Oracle CRS solution alone.

Are there any plans as part of joint effort between Symantec and Oracle for customers to opt out Oracle CRS when using SFRAC?
Or when using SFRAC as primary cluster ware even though CRS is a must, not having to pay RAC licensing fee...

Linux continues to become a mainstream solution, often at the expense of Unix. Many of the implementations of Linux have come in organizations that are classic Unix shops. The success of Linux in these organizations has come from both replacing some or all of the existing Unix servers, and equally importantly, capturing growth opportunities for installed systems.  Migrations of applications that were once running on a Unix platform are happening more frequently as organizations look to reduce costs.

While a move to Linux helps reduce server and software costs, other challenges are introduced into this environment. Linux’s native operating system tools are not ready to handle many mission critical tasks.  In order to perform many complex storage management and high availability tasks, applications must be taken down.  Migrations to Linux from Unix are difficult as well and may require long periods of down time.

Symantec offers a wide range of...

We've completed the work to merge the existing Storage Management and Clustering & Replication communities into a single community area. Since Connect launched last March, a good number of the storage posts and content have spanned the two communities. We realize that this means that many of you have been tracking content from both areas, and hope that this improvement will make it easier and faster for you to find and share information about Storage and High Availability products.

So what's new?  A Storage & Clustering community that includes Storage Foundation, Storage Foundation for Windows, Cluster Server, Cluster Server One, CommandCentral, FileStore, Volume Replicator, and SFHA Management Tool product information, all in one community. How will this help you? You won't see duplicated content between the two communities. You won't have to go to two communities to view product forums. We will have technical expertise regarding Storage and High...
