Late last year, we changed the name of Veritas Operations Services (VOS) to Symantec Operations Readiness Tools (SORT) [http://sort.symantec.com]  and we enhanced the site to help new users understand more about the available features.

As you’ve likely seen, the main SORT webpage is geared toward educating new users about SORT features and functions.

For previous VOS users, we suggest going directly to the MySORT page (http://mysort.symantec.com).  MySORT is the old VOS home page with a few minor changes.  You’ll see a color template difference but the old VOS functionality is still there including enhancements based on previously received feedback.

If you just want to use the tools and services, go to the MySORT page and get started (http://mysort.symantec.com).  You can generate reports for...

We had asked community members to submit their scripts as an example of what can be done for custom agents and other utilities.  We received a tremendous response and a great variety of custom utilities.  We had useful scripts that provided a view into the amount of space within a Disk Group another that would check the uptime of the cluster and a third that extended a windows application agent with a framework to enable additional functionality.  It was very difficult to choose the winner with such fine contributions.

After much deliberation the winner is Custom Script: VCS uptime script by Seann Herdejurgen.  The ability to determine the uptime of an application is critical to every business.  This script enable customers to determine this information from a script....

Product Management for High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Replication at Symantec wants your input! We’re looking for suggestions about the topics you’d like to know more about. Your input is valuable as it is our goal to deliver the information that you are looking for and empower you to fully utilize our solutions.

  • If you could to talk directly to the Veritas Cluster Server, Global Cluster Option or Volume Replication development team about a feature or function, what would it be?
  • What would be the most useful type of content, e.g. articles, technical screencast/video demo, blog tips and tricks?
  • Would having a place on Symantec Connect where other users could share their scripts, both custom agents and trigger scripts,  be helpful?  For example, a customer recently asked where they could find example trigger scripts

We have plans to showcase product use cases, demonstrate features in the product...

Hello Connect Users,

If you attended the Vision Conference last month, you learned about the latest in storage management and high availability / disaster recovery (HA/DR) technologies that Symantec is offering.  Of course, if you were on-site it is difficult to make it to all of the sessions, so we have videos available from several of the presentations that you may watch on-demand.  If you were not able to make it to Vegas, now is a great chance to see these sessions at your fingertips.  Here is a listing of the available videos:
