Train. Certify. Succeed!

Symantec just launched the new Symantec Certified Professional (SCP) program, which includes a Cloud Security training path and certification.

Demonstrate your knowledge of cloud technologies and Symantec cloud security best practices and solutions.

Train. Certify. Succeed!

Today, at the RSA Conference in San Francisco, California, Symantec Education Services announced a partnership with the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) to offer cloud security training and certification to our valued customers and partners.

Only 1-in-4 organizations have staff with any experience in the cloud, according to research from Symantec. Furthermore, half of security leaders rated their IT staff less than somewhat prepared or completely unprepared for the cloud. Cloud security needs leadership and to standardize training and skills that fill this gap, so organizations can seize on the opportunities that cloud presents.

Why cloud certification?

  • Validate technical credibility and industry knowledge
  • Increase industry recognition...

I am working with the Global Sales & Services Education Enablement Leadership team to develop our key initiatives/strategies for 2012 and beyond.  I would love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see in the Symantec Certification Program for 2011-2012.  I have some specific questions, but welcome all input.

  • What value do end users/you want in a technical certification program?
  • Do you value CompTIA?  Why?
  • Who are CompTIA’s competitors?
  • What new certification tracks, if any, should we develop?  Why?
  • What benefits would you like to see us add to the program?
  • How important is availability of prep materials?  What type of prep materials (training, books, online classes, sample exams, etc.) do you prefer?  Is this required at all levels of certification or just the higher levels?
  • What is working well in the program - that we should definitely continue?  Why?...
