Host: Patrick Donegan, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading
Featured Presenter: Dr. Rolf Lindemann, Senior Director Product Management, Symantec
Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2012
Time: 11:00 a.m. New York/4:00 p.m. London

VimpelCom and Symantec Corporation recently announced the offering of new Child Safety service, an integrated network-based online security service, which combines internet filtering, internet surfing reports, and network-use time control. Built on leading-edge Symantec technologies, this service is already available via VimpelCom’s network in Russia under the Beeline brand.

The Child Safety service blocks the malicious and inappropriate online content from the users that are configured to not receive such content. This service enables parents to define and execute policy-based controls for children of various age groups, such as under 7, 7-12 and over 13 years of age. The solution also automatically categorizes new frequently visited web sites and adds those to the existing category database. Access to search engines and encyclopedias can be left open to all age groups, however...
