  • Added the ability to filter search results by their "Solved" or "Unsolved" status.
  • Added a feature that will give admins, editors and trusted advisors the ability to create a new discussion thread from an off-topic comment.

  • Released new Known Issues utility to the Backup and Archiving community (This was the #1 pain point identified by users in Connect's "Ideas" area: This feature is currently in a "Pilot" phase and is only available in the Backup and Archiving Community:
  • Implemented a rewritten - more robust - SymAccount module.
  • Added a new menu item to facilitate UI language switching.
  • Changed the layout for Community "Stats" on the home page to make room for more categories (old layout was horizontal, new layout is vertical).

  • Resolved the issue of users not being able to log in via SymAccount.
  • Migrated PGP blog posts from to Connect.
  • Changed permissions so only Site Admins can now post videos to the "Screencast Help" section of Connect.
  • Fixed the "Recently Solved" lists that were not displaying any items.
  • Created a group subscription membership vetting form for the Symantec Compliance Product Group
  • Added a report for node/comment statistics per Community/Utility.

Maintenance is scheduled to take place on Symantec's SymAccount authentication service for 12 hours* Saturday, January 22 beginning at 7:30 AM PST**.

Symantec's Connect community uses the SymAccount service to authenticate users to the community.

During this time,

  • Anonymous users will be able to browse and search Connect content as usual.
  • Users who logged in before the outage will remain authenticated and will be able to browse, search, and post content as usual.
  • Users attempting to log in during the outage will be denied.
  • Users attempting to set up a new account during the outage will be denied.

The SymAccount team is upgrading to a new infrastructure that should speed up the log in process significantly.

* We expect the upgrade to take less time than is allotted but, as is the case with all upgrades, issues may arise that could cause this outage to be longer than scheduled. If issues are encountered...
