The past two days have focused on the challenges and opportunities of embracing an information-based approach to IT in a converging world. Today, our vision grows to even more expansive concepts with Dr. Michio Kaku. A world-renowned theoretical physicist, Dr. Kaku has popularised science as a professor, author, radio host and television contributor. He is the co-founder of string field theory (a branch of string theory) and continues Einstein’s search to unite the four fundamental forces of the universe into one unified theory. Keynote Review and Preview
Today saw the continuation on the theme of convergence, with keynote presentations from Symantec's new CEO, Steve Bennett, providing a very open view of Symantec's future. Following on, SVP of the Storage and Availability Group, Deepak Mohan announced that Symantec is now delivering fail over capabilities for VMware. Further sessions featured Spanish customer SESCAM and Symantec partners, RedHat, Fujitsu and VMware discussing industry trends with Symantec executives. As the keynotes progressed, CJ Desai, SVP of the Information Management Group launched the next generation of Symantec appliances for BackupExec and NetBackup during his appearance here at Vision.
