He is the co-founder of string field theory (a branch of string theory) and continues Einstein’s search to unite the four fundamental forces of the universe into one unified theory. His new book, Physics of the Impossible: A Scientific Exploration of the World of Phasers, Force Fields, Teleportation and Time Travel is currently on the New York Times Bestseller List....

Keynote Review and Preview

“Protection in a Converging World” was the leading theme in this morning's keynote. From Francis deSouza's opening keynote, focusing on the growing threat vectors, to Greg Day outlining the four stages of Cyber Intelligence, with the help of Time Warner's CISO, Tammy Moskites, the importance of leveraging an information-centric model was emphasized. We also saw the impactful conversation between Steve Morton and Anil Chakravarthy on the power of mobility without vulnerability, specifically around BYOD concepts, and control of private and business information as the fundamental priority in the management of mobile environments. The importance of creating solutions that reflect this convergence was further strengthened by Mike Madison from Deloitte, a first-time Platinum sponsor at Vision. Lastly, Simon Holland, from Intel, showed the fascinating new development in the Ultra Book, with protection from...

David Dorosin - Director, Product Marketing

They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and the necessity to defend large organizations against new IT security threats has spawned a staggering array of security tools. The sheer amount of data being generated by these tools is creating a “big data” problem for many enterprise security teams.

In a recent survey by the Enterprise Strategy Group, 86 percent of enterprises indicated that they were collecting more data than they did two years ago, with half of those collecting “substantially” more. In such an environment, critical security issues and the key actions required to address them are often hidden in plain sight. CISOs and enterprise security teams are increasingly looking for ways to sift through this data to quickly identify the key risks to their business and drive the appropriate actions to address those risks.

This week at...

Are you visiting Vision Barcelona next week?

Below are some tips for you.

Barcelona has a lot of good stuff to visit, See and do. Visit the cathedral of Gaudi and see a lot of centuries of building.

Visit the aquarium. There is some much to see there and I enjoyed it several times while staying in barcelona.

The Ramblas off course is a great place to see and to experience, but be very aware off your personal belongings. Pickpockets will try to get your wallet and/or cellphone. Putt them in a safe place and if you have to pay for something, dont let people see where you hide your wallet. Allthough it might look odd, put some cash in your socks or another place. If your wallet gets stolen your still have some cash to get back to your hotel.

November the 14th there is a big strike scheduled in whole Spain. Allthough Symantec took a lot of precautions, you have to take your own precautions as well.

Strikes in Spain can be...
