Hi Ben, I did the trace as decribed in document ID 287662. I extracted the beginning of the backup, about 220 events, into a textfile (about 190kb). The "mode select6" operations look like as expected and the "mode sense6" ...

Hi, @ Ben: thanks, this explains the behaviour ... /I will study this document and will give you a report @ Ken: checked once, twice ... compression is ALWAYS reported as ENABLED! I tried different compression options in my job ...
