Incorrect. This option was certainly available for SEP 11 but ONLY when using Microsoft SQL, not with the embedded database.

Yeah, in a perfect world GPO would be all you need. :) MSI and AD GPO do draw a distinction between 32 and 64bit packages, though you do need to go to the advanced options when assigning the package to utilize them.

If you are fully AD sync, why not use Software Install GPO to install software? All computers get the software, no pushing (or finding or locating) necessary.

This is only an issue for the embedded database. For an SQL database you can change the password at will.

Email scanning is redundant anyway, Autoprotect will scan any attachment that gets written to the drive. Why have an email proxy that scans it again?

The installation packages are stored in the database, which is in whatever directory you installed to. You cannot move them without changing where the product is installed (C, D, etc).
