I would be more inclined to recommend registering the dll using wisecomcapture and importing the extracted data into the corresponding component. Doing it this way ensures that correct advertising tables are populated.

Product Codes and Component GUIDs are packed in this manner as it takes up less space by dropping the curly brackets and hyphens allowing for faster access. The reversal of the hex digits is just a by-product of the compression method used.
