You cannot use a sylink file to move a client from group A to group B. It simply does not work and is not supported. As pete said, it's best to move computers in the SEPM by right clicking on the client and choosing "Move"

Unfortunately, since this was installed by a former employer, you are no longer licensed to use the current version installed on your laptop, or migrate to a newer build. Your best option is to remove SEP and purchase Norton Internet Security.
