This is a managed client where the manual launch of liveupdate is allowed. I don't see any reason our end users shouldn't be able to launch LiveUpdate on their own if they need to for some reason.

I have upgraded all of the clients to RU5 so that isn't the issue. I have also rebooted both the server and the clients to no avail. Do I need to call tech support and sit on hold for several hours to see if I can get this problem ...

There is no virus on the machine. I literally just built this machine and the only programs on it are Windows XP and Symantec Endpoint Protection. Unless Windows embedded a virus in it's own OS there is no possible way for there to be a ...

Yeah, PTP is off on the servers like you stated, but this isn't causing the client to appear with a red dot indicating a problem. Only the workstations which are running XP SP3 are doing that.
