Enforcing TLS encryption on specified domains

Apr 01, 2016 02:23 PM

This video describes the ways that a Symantec Messaging Gateway can implement TLS, Transport Layer Security, for encryption. For example:

  • A gateway can accept TLS encryption on inbound mail;
  • It can implement TLS opportunistically when sending mail;
  • And with SMG 10.6, the gateway can enforce TLS as a requirement on specific domains or email addresses.

Is the TLS used only for inbound / outbound emails ?

How can I validate / verify that the company is using TLS Encryption ?

Your answer will highly appreciated.

Please don't hesitate to share link(s) for basic TLS encryption configuration.

Thanks

Tom
