Hi there!

I'm new to this forum and very excited to gain as well as share my knowledge and experience in Application Packaging with you guys.
I downloaded, installed and configured Wise PAckage Studio 8. This video has all the information that you need to install and configure Wise PAckage Studio for Packaging. I hope this helps.

Thanks,
Arun Kumar

Great job, but still got problems

Hi all,

I have still problems installing Wise 8.0. I'm using WinXP on a domainless VMWare.
When I got to the point where to enter the credentials of the local account during Wise Setup, I always get the following error.
I entered the pw correclty.

I'm doing the same way Arun has shown in his video.

Can anybody give some advice, please?

Thank you very much,
Torben

Account issue?

Hi again,

I created a new local account, tried again and then it worked. Strange.
Before doing this, I was logged in as the local adminstrator and this was not working as described above.

However, now my installation goes on but I take this issue as an error.

Thank you,
Torben

Your local administrator

Your local administrator account that is used for installation must have a password, otherwise WPS will not install and operate correctly.
I have set up multiple instances of WPS on VMWare XP machines running in workgroup mode (not domain mode), and having a password on the installing account is the only pre-requisite I have ever found necessary.

If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.

SQL Requirements

Can anyone tell me the SQL requirements for WPS8.0?  Potential size of database, version of SQL required, etc?
