Hello,

This video demonstrates how to perform a Redirected Restore of a web application to alternate using SharePoint Agent for NetBackup.

This is a step by step procedure that would guide you through.  This has been a painful point for some time and the video aims to fix that by guiding through the procedure.

Hello,

In case you do not have an alternate sharepoint farm to restore the web application, you can restore it to the same farm but with different name.

All to need to do is create a placeholder web application with a differnt name than that of the web application to be restored. Remember to keep the structure of both the web applications same.

Then follow the same steps as in the video to restore the web application to same farm.

Thanks and Regards.

Dear All,

By default, Backup, Archive, and Restore (BAR) GUI on the client only allows restore to itself

That is: If you go to File > Specify NetBackup Machines and Policy Type > the "Destination client for restores" is grayed out.

In Gaurav's video, notice that he launched the BAR GUI on Brad, yet he was able to point the destination client to Pride.

To be able to do that, simply follow this technote: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH144074

Cheers,

Wiriadi
