Instead of manually adding nodes into a Vertitas Cluster Server (VCS) cluster, the VCS 5.1 install script now supports an –addnode command line option to automate and simplify the process. In this screencast, Senior Software Engineer Kevin Xue demonstrates the steps to and important notices about adding a system into a running Vertitas Cluster Server cluster using the -addnode command line option.

All clustered products including VCS, Storage Foundation High Availability, Storage Foundation High Cluster File System, and SFRAC support automatically adding a node using the install script with -addnode option.
