Battoth,

We appreciate getting customer feedback and would love to hear directly from you regarding this and any other concerns you may have. The best way to stay connected with us on a particular problem is to open a support case with our technical support team so that we can assist you directly. If you have specific questions, please let us know and we'll do our best to address them.

The forums are designed to get the entire community involved in sharing information and solving problems. The process is better served by opening a new post with a clear problem statement. To all participants in this thread, please open a new post to document your specific issue instead of continuing on this unrelated thread.

The initial question asked in the post you referenced was answered; the user Nagus wanted to know if the VZROCK.lnk was something to be concerned about and I briefly shared that this was a part of the original design in the 7.5 release.

What more information would you like to know regarding the VZROCK.lnk issue? It would be helpful to know more details about what issue you are facing with VZROCK.lnk. Are your symptoms the same as Nagus or Ron's? Can you tell us more about your issue and provide detailed steps to reproduce the problem you are seeing? On a related note, we're planning to make some changes in a future release to improve the functionality of the area that VZROCK.lnk was designed to address.

Please do let us know how we can be of further assistance to you.

Best regards,

Danny

Hello Ron,

It sounds like your issue causes much more heartache than the observation made by Nagus in the other post you referenced. My apologies if no one has reached out to you on this, but in the situation you are describing, it would be best to contact technical support and open a support case so that we can assist you directly. Please use the following page to find our technical support contact information.

Best regards,

Danny

it's kinda laughable that the only info found on the VZROCK.lnk issue is that it's "working as intended".

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/vzrocklnk

just shows i shouldn't expect any kind of quality from symantec.

Hello,

I'm new to Netbackup. Would you please advice on below query.

Two media servers, each with one standalone tape drive, exist in the Symantec Netbackup 7.5
environment. Both weekly full and daily differential incremental backups need to run for the clients
and each schedule has a different retention period. Because of network topology, some clients back up
to media server 1 and some back up to media server 2. How can the administrator minimize the number of
time tapes will need to be changed manually?

Regards

Murshad

I Love this program! I however have seen a problem with this.

On the desktop a file keep appearing then disappearing called VZROCK.lnk. I goolged this and have found this thread at this link:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/products/workspace-virtualization

For me this vzrock.lnk causes an error with IE 9 and the favorites. it seems on certain machines (2) it tries to save to the  favorites folder pushing all the favorite so far down the list (Im talking maybe 100 or so entires) that some users cant see thier saved favs.

I have searched the event log but I am not seeing anything out of the ordinary. I have not been able to reproduce this yet. it seems its very rare and random.

For now I have had to drop all my software thats virtualized on those PC so the IE favorites can be used.

Should I call and create a ticket with Symantec? or  will this be addressed on hotfix 4 that will be coming out later this month?
