Hi All,

Due to the fragmentation of services my company splits responsibility for the SEP backend nfrastructure and the maintenance of the Endpoint Agent. As such I am currently producing process documentation for stuff the endpoint responsibility owners need to perform. I am currently doing a content and configuration update document.

I know that to force a configuration update they can right click the icon and choose "Update Configuration" or run "smc -updateconfig" from the command line. My question is does this process also force a check for updated content?

It forces a check in so the client would look for content updates, new policies, upload logs, etc. Basically everything that happens during the normal heartbeat process (not forced). See KB article:
