Critical System Protection Suite

Hi,

We are about to implement CSPS. Try as I might, I cannot find up to date admin and installation guides. They all refer to Win XP and Server 2003 as well as P4 processors. This can't be right. Can you please point me in the right direction to download latest guides for this application.

Tks,

Guy

Symantec Critical System Protection 5.2 RU9 Docs

Here you will find the latest documentation regarding SCSP.

Below, another article regarding the installation process:

How to install SCSP with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition

PS: Does not only apply to SQL Server 2008 R2 but to any SQL version.

Hope it helps.

Hi,

All of the SCSP versions on the docs are correct. The posting date is very recent ....... but if you look at the installation guide for instance you will see the newest pc's being reffered to is XP and 2003. No Win7 or 2008. We are trying to guage what RAM and HDD space we need for new implementation. The specs on the "new" posted guides seem to be really out of date. Could anyone confirm this for me pls. Are these the only documents we can rely on for planning and installation?

Tks,

Guy

Thanks, so these are the latest guides for the product then?

Could you give me an idea how much RAM we need to allocate for a virtual management server running 2008 R2 and having betw. 15-20 agents?

Also Hdd space required.

Hi,

How much space would we need for a local SQL DB if we are deploying only 20 agents?

I havent been able to find this info from the documentation.

its dependent on the events that is going to be logged from these clients. if its not much then it should not matter .

We need to make a procurement for hard drive space,  so we are needing a specific amount, any suggestions??

if its 15-20 agents, nothing special at all.  This isn't something that constantly talks to the servers, they dont get signature updates that need to be deployed or anything like that, even 40gb is more than enough if you have a separate SQL box, if its all on the same, just play it safe and go for 80Gb or something similar.

The base requirement is 1Gb of free space for the management server....
