Anyone came across a situation where by SEP 12.1.2 client bluescreens during installation and the Dump file point s to NAVENG.SYS as a cause? Dump file results are below. I have cleaned wiped the system. The system had SEP 11.x before this upgrade and now I cannt even get back to 11.x. It just crushes as soon as it finishes downloading updates. I dont think is licking RAM. I have swapped with another system and that system has no issues at all and its on SEP 12.1.2

Any ideas?

Have not seen this but I would suggest gathering a full dump and submitting to Symantec so they can investigate and determine the root cause.

Is the system that is not having an issue different in any way (make, model, OS, different software?)

Get a full memory dump from the computer and open a case with Support. They can look at it

A quick internet serach points me to http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH144915&profileURL=https%3A%2F%2Fsymaccount-profile.symantec.com%2FSSO%2Findex.jsp%3FssoID%3D1358531410241g6iyu2Yv9sQ70z82857LdAw4HlxXFQ8eA8scZ

it means this is not something new, so as said earlier please get the dumps and contact support

An update to the AV engine was done on 1/15 per this thread:

When did this start?

I am having exactly the same problem with Norton Internet Security 20.2.0.19 on a Dell desktop running Windows XP/SP3. The blue screen happens just after the desktop loads after booting. The problem started around Tuesday (Jan 15th). I'll open a case. Of course, this makes the computer useless, so I have to uninstall NIS and use some other AV in the meantime.

From the event log:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001a (0x00041785, 0xc0e00000, 0x88e0f248, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini011913-02.dmp.

BlueScreenView says NAVENG.SYS is the cause:
